Students also have the opportunity, during their first year of Master, to choose to complete their second year of study by doing an apprenticeship. Their schedule is then divided between their work institution, in the public or the private sector (three days of attendance) and Sciences Po (two days of courses). Beginning in their second year, students have the option to take preparatory courses for French and European competitive examinations offered by the Center for Examination Preparation, whose quality of instruction and success rates are unrivalled in Europe. Career opportunities The program prepares students for a wide range of professional positions—political officer, civil servant (international, national or local), social entrepreneur, communications professional, researcher, consultant, manager, etc.—in a wide variety of fields: • Public and private: political and administrative officers and private sector executives (companies, consulting firms) working in close connection with the public sector, as well as social entrepreneurs, communications professionals, etc. • Local and international: the national level is no longer the only dimension of public policy. Graduates are thus prepared to work at all levels, from the local to the international, including the national, European and non-governmental. • In the field of thought and practice: the program prepares students for careers as public policy researchers and thinkers as well as managers, from policy conception to implementation. Double degree The program offers a variety of double degree opportunities: in France, with HEC, Saint-Cyr, AgroParisTech, SupAéro and the École du Louvre; abroad, with the Hertie School of Governance in Berlin, the University of Tokyo’s Graduate School of Public Policy, the London School of Economics and Political Science, Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affair, and Bocconi University’s Master in Management Science.
