Program Objectives In a world profoundly disrupted by digital technologies and ever-changing dynamics, the Master in Innovation & Digital Transformation aims to train people involved in innovation to develop their creative and reflective potential. The programme combines learning in the areas of digital humanities, design methodologies, technological culture and management approaches to innovation. The diversity and complementarity of the student cohort is an asset to the course, providing synergies in skills, knowledge and learning styles. Main orientations and specific features The Master in Innovation & Digital Transformation is a 2-year graduate program. The first year takes place at the School of Management and Innovation and builds upon a foundation of core learning structured around digital humanities and management. The program also offers specialist modules (data sciences, design, scientific and technological literacy) that are continued in the second year of the teaching program. The two-year Master takes a multi-strand approach to strengthen skills specialisation. Two options are offered in the second year of the Master: • In association with Télécom ParisTech, the Management, Innovation, Digital option involves a semester of classes at Télécom ParisTech, followed by a semester of classes at Sciences Po, and is completed with a professional work placement (internship or business project) • The second option Management & Innovation by Design takes the form of a dual degree (3 years in total, Master 1 included) with Strate School of Design. Sciences Po students attend 3 semesters at Strate, after having completed their M1 (semesters 1 and 2) and their semester 3 at Sciences Po. Innovation in teaching and learning is at the heart of this course. Students are confronted with real-life challenges and are expected to experiment as part of the creative workshops. With an emphasis on initiative-taking, the project methodology of involving external stakeholders (companies, institutions, etc.) is an important feature of the course regardless of the stage students are at in the program. The program benefits from the contribution of the Sciences Po Medialab, a research centre recognised as a major player in the field of digital humanities. In particular, the program draws upon Medialab’s expertise in digital use, algorithms, data (Big and Smart Data); its theoretical practice (Social Theory, Media Studies), and its teaching methodologies (particularly controversy mapping).
