Orientation and specific features The first semester is devoted to exploring the major domains and careers in HR and to the acquisition of a solid foundation of basic knowledge of the field. The second semester concentrates on theoretical concepts in HRM, social sciences (labor economics, labor law, etc.), corporate affairs, and the development of a professional plan to prepare students for their year of professional placement. This coursework is complemented by practical training exercises like the Looking for Talent program, the negotiation workshop, and the completion of a sociological study within a major company. The second year is devoted to deepening students’ knowledge of the field and developing their professional skills. It is based on an alternating work/study schedule: students sign a 12-month contract and take on a specific assignment at the management level, alternating one week of coursework with three weeks working at the company. This rhythm puts the business world at the center of the training, enabling students to combine their theoretical knowledge with hands-on experience. Individualized support for students in the form of tutoring ensures an optimal training balance and assists students in formulating their professional plan. Career opportunities The program is designed to train generalist HR professionals as well as specialists in a particular field of HR for positions as human resource executives. A recent study conducted by Sciences Po Avenir in 2012 showed that graduates have considerable success on the job market: • 80% of recent graduates find positions within 3 months of completing the program • Nearly one-third find positions abroad • 65% receive permanent contracts (CDI), the rest receive 6-month or 1-year contracts (CDD) • Annual salaries are between 33k and 50k gross (excluding bonuses) Recent graduates are hired in a wide range of HR positions within companies, including HR development— hiring, campus management, training, career management, talent management, strategic workforce planning, mobility, company relations, Comp & Ben, HR surveys, HR communication, training and placement, etc. Some graduates opt for positions in HR consulting or management. The majority are operations managers, executives, or consultants.
