The academic programme of the Euro-Latino-American Campus is designed to give students an opportunity to discover the diversity and richness of Latin America. In addition to the core curriculum required for all Sciences Po students, the Poitiers Campus offers courses focusing on the Iberian world and Latin America and their political, economic and cultural links with Europe, both past and present. Language training is also a important component of the programme, as students are expected to have strong command of French, English, Spanish and Portuguese. Students may also learn Portuguese to complement their coursework. To this end and to that of enriching the curriculum taught on the campus, all first-year students head off either to Madrid for a one-week, in partnership with the Instituto de Empressa, or to Lisbon, in partnership with the Political Observatory of the New University of Lisbon. The program emphasizes group projects and extracurricular activities throughout the year and encourages student engagement in a wide variety of domains. For their third year, which must be spent abroad, students do an internship or study at a partner university in Latin America or Europe.
