A l’issue des hostilités en 1945, William Lyons et son équipe ont besoin d’un coup d’éclat pour faire parler de la toute récente marque Jaguar. La Jaguar Mark V est la dernière des « culbutés » ! En 1948, apparaît la double appellation : Mark et V. En effet la remplaçante de la Mark IV, innovait par son châssis à roues indépendantes. Autre nouveauté : l’apparition des « spats » sur les roues arrière. Ils seront un des signes distinctifs de la marque Jaguar pendant plus de 20 ans. Majestueuse, aristocratique, britannique, la Mark V marque avec splendeur l’achèvement d’un style que nul n’aura davantage porté à la hauteur d’une institution. Cette très belle Jaguar est en conduite à gauche, avec une boite manuelle et un toit ouvrant. Elle est roulante mais les freins et la sellerie sont à revoir. Luxueuse, elle était très appréciée des notables britanniques.
