First supplied in Naples by the concessionnaire Lancia Autoleader, this Lancia Delta Integrale is number 52 in the «Martini 5» limited series of 400 cars brought out in tribute to Lancia’s fifth title in the World Rally Championship. As well as the unique specification of this series (Martini livery, special wheels, decal on the tailgate, bucket seats, air-conditioning, etc.) this car has a rear strut bar. When the current owner bought this car in 2005, it had covered 40 000 kilometres (24 800 miles). The reading is now 107 600 km (66 800 miles) with careful driving and scrupulous maintenance in the intervening period. There is a comprehensive file of invoices. Part of the maintenance was undertaken by Storic Italia in Marseille, a specialist in Italian sports cars, and the rest was carried out by the owner himself. For example, with the help of a professional mechanic friend, he replaced the timing belt in 2014 at 103 000 km. Thanks to this meticulous care, this car, which is well known to the Scuderia Lancia Intégrale club, is today in very good overall condition. The bodywork has no particular defects and the paintwork and the model’s correct stripes and stickers are all still in pristine condition. The interior is just as well preserved : the plastic surfaces have aged well and only the Recaro seats, in grey alcantera with red over-stitching, show some signs of wear. Evidence of the careful treatment of this car by its successive owners is provided by the fact that the protective plastic sheets covering the lining panels of the rear doors are still in place. All aspects of the appearance correctly reflect the car’s age and distance covered. All mechanical organs function properly, the engine climbs cleanly through the rev range and brake balance is good. Our road test was entirely satisfactory and showed that this car, which was highly competitive when it was launched, still shows excellent performance thanks to its turbo-charged four cylinder engine of 210 bhp and its four wheel drive.
