Breaking All the Records
By 2006, the Conair Corporation would reach $2 billion in gross sales. That solid financial foundation allowed the company to continue to evolve and grow, with well-timed domestic and foreign acquisitions that expanded existing categories and added new ones. In a strategic triple play, Conair acquired the Scünci brand in 2005, and took the lead position in the highly lucrative hair accessory market. In 2006, Conair purchased the assets of the Franzus Company, and with them launched Travel Smart by Conair, now a leading purveyor of travel accessories and portable security items. And in 2007, the acquisition of Allegro – a hugely successful custom manufacturer of designer cosmetic and accessory bags out of California – opened doors for Conair that haven’t even been explored yet.
